High Viscosity Pumps
Gentle, low-pulsation transfer for viscous and shear-sensitive media.
For demanding liquids—viscous, pasty, shear-sensitive, or containing soft solids—TRCI supplies FLUX progressive cavity solutions designed for smooth, controlled pumping with excellent metering behaviour.
VISCOPOWER Progressive Cavity Pumps (Series 500)
The FLUX VISCOPOWER progressive cavity pump transfers low- to high-viscosity media up to 100,000 mPas, with flow rates up to 80 L/min and pumping pressures up to 15 bar (application dependent).
Key advantages
Constant, gentle pumping with low pulsation
High pressure capability (up to 15 bar) for demanding transfer tasks
Suitable for shear-sensitive media and can pump soft solids without damaging them
Quick and easy to clean; design with minimal dead space (ideal for hygienic processes)
Can be used vertically or horizontally depending on the setup
How it works (progressive cavity principle)
A rotating rotor runs inside a fixed stator, creating sealed cavities that move the product smoothly from the suction side to the discharge—resulting in gentle transfer and stable flow.
Typical media & industries
VISCOPOWER is used across industry, chemicals, food, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, for media such as: glue, paints & varnishes, oils, lip gloss, ointments, toothpaste, molasses, tomato purée and juice concentrates.
Designed for easy cleaning & flexible configuration
Tool-light dismantling concept (designed for quick disassembly and cleaning)
Modular system: components such as rotor/stator, motors, seals can be adapted to changing duties
Standard immersion lengths available (e.g., 400 / 700 / 1000 / 1200 / 1500 mm)
Stator materials available to match the medium (e.g., PTFE, NBR, FKM)
When the product is barely flowing: Drum emptying systems
For very viscous or non-flowing media, VISCOPOWER can be combined with VISCOFLUX drum-emptying systems, engineered to empty lidded drums gently and continuously, with residual volume typically below 1% (system dependent).

FAQ
What is a progressive cavity pump and why is it ideal for high-viscosity media?
A progressive cavity pump uses a rotating rotor running inside a fixed stator, creating sealed cavities that move the product smoothly from suction to discharge. This provides constant, gentle, low-pulsation transfer, making it well suited for viscous and shear-sensitive media.
What viscosity range can VISCOPOWER handle?
VISCOPOWER pumps are designed for low- to high-viscosity media up to 100,000 mPas (depending on configuration and application).
What flow rate and pressure can I expect?
Depending on the medium and duty conditions, VISCOPOWER can achieve flow rates up to 80 L/min and pumping pressures up to 15 bar.
Can VISCOPOWER pump shear-sensitive products or media with solids?
Yes. The pumping principle supports gentle transfer with low turbulence, and VISCOPOWER can pump soft solids without damaging them (application dependent).
Is VISCOPOWER easy to clean and suitable for hygienic applications?
VISCOPOWER was developed for quick dismantling and cleaning, with minimal dead space, making it suitable for hygienic sectors such as food, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals (configuration/process dependent).
